THOMAS KJER-OLSEN SECURES RUNNER-UP RESULT AT LACAPELLE MARIVAL INTERNATIONAL MX.

ROCKSTAR ENERGY HUSQVARNA FACTORY RACING RIDER CONCLUDES HIS PRE-SEASON RACING ACTIVITIES ON A HIGH IN FRANCE.

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider Thomas Kjer-Olsen has successfully wrapped up his pre-season races by securing a solid runner-up result in MX2 category at the 2019 Lacapelle Marival International Motocross in France. The event marks the final international race before the start of this year’s FIM Motocross World Championship.

Enjoying a good day of racing at the hard-packed circuit in the south of France, Thomas Kjer-Olsen delivered strong performances to place second in each of the two MX2 motos. Going head-to-head with the elite MX1 class riders, the young Dane wrapped up his day in France with a seventh-place result in the third and final MX1/MX2 combined moto.

Joining Kjer-Olsen at the 2019 Lacapelle Marival International Motocross was his Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team partner Jed Beaton. Suffering a fall during the Time Practice session, the young Aussie decided to sit out the rest of the meeting. Avoiding any injuries, Jed will be back in action next week at the FIM MX2 World Championship season opener in Argentina.

Continuing his solid performance onboard his new TC 125 machine, Husqvarna’s Kay de Wolf earned two moto wins to secure the overall victory in the 125cc class at the Lacapelle Marival International Motocross. The 14-year-old Dane will continue working hard heading to the EMX125 European Championship season opener in The Netherlands on March 30/31.

The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team will return to action on March 2/3 at the opening round of the 2019 FIM Motocross World Championship in Argentina.

Thomas Kjer-Olsen: “I had an all right weekend here in France and I’m happy to end my pre-season preparations with a strong overall result. This weekend we tried some new solutions and made some small changes to the bike that seemed to work well. With the team we’re always trying to find this little extra and pre-season races are the best place to try things. My pace was good this weekend and I am ready for Argentina. The season will be long but I am happy that we are moving in the right direction. I will keep working and do my best to kick off the World Championship on a high.”

Kay de Wolf: “It was a perfect weekend for me. Getting the holeshot in each of the two motos, I put my head down and tried to keep my own pace until the chequered flag. Getting two wins here is France is a good confidence booster but I know things will be more difficult once the EMX125 series kicks off. I am trying to keep both feet on the ground and focus on the future. So far it’s been a great pre-season for me and I hope I can improve my race pace as the season goes on.”
