TADDY BLAZUSIAK READY FOR VERTICAL MADNESS AT RED BULL ROMANIACS.
EXTREME ENDURO STAR TO MAKE FIRST COMPETITIVE OUTING FOR GASGAS FACTORY RACING AT WORLD’S TOUGHEST HARD ENDURO RALLYE.
Taddy Blazusiak will make his first official outing as a GASGAS Factory Racing rider tomorrow, when the Polish star takes to the start of the Red Bull Romaniacs extreme enduro. Despite the multiple world champion signing for GASGAS Motorcycles back in July, the rescheduled running of the infamous hard enduro rallye marks Taddy’s first outdoor competition of 2020, and his first for GASGAS.
Wednesday October 28 will see Taddy begin the first of four full days of racing, as usual in the Romanian mountains above Sibiu. This year, organizer Martin Freinademetz and his team have named the race ‘Vertical Madness’ – hinting at a seriously tough week for the riders, with the unpredictable autumnal Romanian climate likely to add to the challenges ahead.
Fourth in 2019, Taddy will be aiming to make history by earning both his and GASGAS’ first victory at the demanding event. The experienced 37-year-old is fired up and more motivated than ever to make it happen!
For 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 17th running of Red Bull Romaniacs has been moved from its established July date to late October. Local restrictions have also required event organizers to cancel the popular Prologue, traditionally held on the streets of Sibiu, and replace it with a time trial qualification day that will take place on Tuesday October 27.
Taddy Blazusiak:“It’s really weird to have the first race of the year in October, it also looks like it might be the only one we’re doing, so we’re lucky in that respect. My plan is to go as hard as I can and get a good result. I’m really motivated to start with GASGAS – it’s my first race in the new colors and I’m definitely looking forward to it. The bike is working well, we’ve done a lot of work over the year and I’m happy with the whole package. Hopefully qualifying will go well tomorrow and I’ll earn a good start position, after that, we head into the hills and it’s already looking like it’s going to be a tough four days of racing.”
