JORGE PRADO EXTENDS HIS CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD IN FRANCE.
PRADO RACES TO CONSISTENT 3-3 SCORECARD AT THE SEVENTH ROUND.
Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado has just enjoyed another successful outing at the Grand Prix of France, round seven of the 2023 FIM Motocross World Championship, as he put his MC 450F back onto the podium and extended his series lead by a significant margin.
The first day of the Grand Prix of France was great for Prado, who won the qualification heat and took the ten points that go along with such an achievement. That fine form was carried into Sunday’s motos, where he raced to a 4-3 scorecard on a tricky layout that challenged both man and machine. ’61‘ led four laps of moto one, but sat in third for the duration of the second stint. Such a strong showing has increased his advantage in the championship standings from seven points to twenty-four, so that red plate will continue to be attached to the MC 450F.
Jorge Prado: „It was quite a good weekend! I had a great qualification race. I was leading in the first race and lost my rhythm a little – the backmarkers did not help. Third was the best that I could do in the second moto. I was pushing as hard as I could, but I did not feel so confident as the track got drier. It is nice to extend my championship lead. There is a long way to go and I just want to stay consistent.„
Unfortunately, Mattia Guadagnini’s outing at the Grand Prix of France ended prematurely after a hard crash in moto two. ‚101‘ was impressive in the first stint, as he raced to sixth place and showed flashes of that form that helped him lift a trophy at the previous round in Spain. Updates will be provided in due course. Simon Langenfelder was, of course, absent after suffering an arm injury whilst training for the Grand Prix of France.
