ROCKSTAR ENERGY HUSQVARNA FACTORY RACING’S MICHAEL MOSIMAN CAPTURES CAREER-BEST FINISH WITH SEVENTH PLACE AT OAKLAND SX.

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Michael Mosiman earned a career-best finish of seventh place on Saturday with a solid performance in the 250SX West class at Round 4 of the 2019 AMA Supercross World Championship series in Oakland, Calif.

It’s no coincidence that Mosiman, a northern Calif. native, had a breakout ride at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, which sits just 60 miles south of his home-town in Sebastopol. Mosiman looked strong aboard his FC 250 all day, beginning with an eighth-place qualifying position. In his heat race, Mosiman got off to a fourth-place start and battled inside the top-five before securing a fourth-place transfer into the 250SX West Main Event.

In the Main, Mosiman didn’t get off to the best start as he found himself back in 17th after the first turn. He quickly put his head down and charged through the pack to reach a top-five position by the end of lap one. He engaged in battle with the front-runners for the first few laps until he came together with another rider and consequently lost a few positions. From there, Mosiman maintained a steady pace to ultimately secure a career-best seventh place in front of his hometown crowd in Oakland.

„The day was pretty good,“ said Mosiman. „Practice went well and I finished really well in my heat race. In the Main Event, I came into the first turn really bad, about 17th, and by the end of the first lap I had made my way up to fifth. I passed into fourth for a bit and the pace is really fast up there! It’s something I need to work on, learning to run that pace for a whole Main Event. I made a mistake and got together with another rider, which put me back a few spots and I ended up making my way back to seventh, which is the best Supercross finish of my career so far. Now I have something to build off of going into San Diego next week and we’ll try to get into the top-five.”

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Jason Anderson missed Round 4 due to an injury sustained to his left arm during a practice crash last week. Anderson underwent surgery for his broken arm and has an expected recovery time of at least eight weeks. His return to racing is to be determined and further recovery updates will follow. Jason Anderson currently sits in 12th place in the points standings for the AMA Supercross World Championship series.
