Exclusive Opening for the MXGP of Asia
The MXGP of Asia is about to start in Semarang and many of the world’s most talented motocross riders joined Youthstream, the local authorities and international and national media for a traditional welcome dinner.
This evening the welcome dinner was held at the ballroom of the exclusive Gumaya Tower Hotel. The popular Indonesian presenters Kamidia Radisti and Aris Sandro hosted the event which opened with a LIVE performance from the Indonesian famous singer Ifani Khairunisa and followed by a typical dance and speeches from the officials in attendance such as Youthstream CEO Mr. David Luongo, FIM/CMS Director Antonio Alia Portela, General Secretary Sekda Kota SMG on behalf of the Mayor of Semarang Mr Hendrar Prihadi and IMI General Secretary Jeffrey JP.
Youthstream CEO David Luongo: On behalf of Youthstream I wish to thank the IMI and the Mayor of Semarang for the huge efforts they put in this event. It’s a big honour to be here in Semarang for the second year in a row. The track is one of the best of the MXGP calendar and it’s a pleasure to see MXGP riders who have fun there and enjoy this beautiful country. Every time we go to Indonesia we feel like home and this is due to the warm welcome and support the local authorities and the people give to MXGP. I wish the best to our riders for this weekend but in the meantime enjoy this evening!
FIM/CMS Director Antonio Alia Portela: “On Behalf of the FIM I would like to thank the local authorities for such a beautiful reception and congratulate the dancers for the spectacular performance. After the interesting races we had in Palembang, we are all looking forward to this weekend here in Semarang as we still keep in our memories the races we had last year. I would like to thank all the parties involved in the preparation of the event, our partners and promoters at Youthstream, the local authorities for their support, IMI for providing the necessary officials to run the events and the organizer without whom these two events would not have been possible.”
IMI General Secretary Jeffrey JP and Mayor of Semarang General Secretary Sekda Kota SMG thentook the stage to welcome everybody to Semarang and thank Youhtstream and the FIM to give to the IMI and local authorities the opportunity to run MXGP here in Semarang for the second year in a row. They also took the occasion to invite everybody to enjoy the typical culture and atmosphere of Semarang city.
Adding to the list of notable representatives was the riders Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado and Tom Vialle, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Arminas Jasikonis, Pauls Jonass, Jed Beaton and Thomas Kjer Olsen, F&H Kawasaki Racing’s Henry Jacobi and Adam Sterry, Monster Energy Kemea Yamaha MX2 official team’s Ben Watson and Jago Geerts, Standing Construct KTM’s Max Anstie, Honda 114 Motorsport’s Zach Pichon, A1M Husqvarna’s Tanel Leok, Bud Racing Kawasaki’s Mitchell Harrison and Brian Moreau, Team Honda Redmoto Assomotor’s Brent van Doninck and Bruno Darias Vapanen together with national riders.
After the official welcome speeches everybody was able to relax in a warm atmosphere tasting some special Indonesian plates prepared for dinner. The exclusive welcome dinner is the perfect opening for a one to remember MXGP of Asia.
