MXGP of Spain Officially presented in Arroyomolinos.
The return of the MXGP of Spain was officially presented today in the MXGP Paddock of Intu-Xanadù – Arroyomolinos, which welcomed a delegation of Local and National Officials.
The brand-new circuit will host this weekend, the 12th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship, as MXGP makes its first visit to the circuit.
The event, which respected all health safety measures, was attended by Infront Moto Racing CEO David Luongo, FIM/CMS Director Antonio Alia Portela, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Community of Madrid Marta Rivera de la Cruz, the Deputy Minister of Sports Roberto Núñez, the General Director of the Young Sports Foundation, Félix Jordán, who also attended on behalf of the CSD, the mayor of Arroyomolinos, Ana Millán, the President of the Madrid Motorcycling Federation, Manuel Rodríguez, the General Director intu Xanadú, Alexis Martín de la Peña, the Lastlap CEO Diego Muñoz and the 2019 MX2 World Champion, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado.
During the inauguration, the attendees toured parts of the new Madrid track, as well as its facilities and paddock. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado acted as host, shelving all the ins and outs of this new circuit that will host the EMX125 Presented by FMF Racing, EMX250 and MX2 and MXGP events on Saturday and Sunday, for some unforgettable races.
In addition, Jorge Prado, Guillem Farrés, Gerard Congost, Iker Larrañaga and Gabriela Seisdedos, all took part in the FIM Ride Green Campaign, which focuses on sustainability and the reforestation of trees, with some tree’s being planted by these riders at the circuit here today.
It is the first time that the Community of Madrid has hosted a Grand Prix in the FIM Motocross World Championship and at the brand-new circuit, which is located just 22km from the centre of Madrid, connected by highway and easy to access.
Although the Spanish Motocross Grand Prix is held with no spectators this weekend, the MXGP of Spain will go ahead with a strong cooperation between Infront Moto Racing, the FIM as well as the local organiser, Last Lap, along with the institutions who have worked hard to make this spectacular event happen; the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Sports Department of the Community of Madrid, the Higher Council of Sports, the Young Sports Foundation, the Royal Spanish Motorcyclist Federation and the Arroyomolinos City Council have been essential to carry out this project that arrives in Madrid.
