ISAK GIFTING RETURNS TO FORM WITH IMPRESSIVE SIXTH OVERALL AT MXGP ROUND FOUR.

DIGA PROCROSS’ SUPER-SWEDE ENJOYS TWO SOLID RIDES AT SANDY OSS CIRCUIT.

GASGAS Factory Racing’s Isak Gifting has put together two strong races to claim sixth overall in the MX2 class at round four of the FIM Motocross World Championship. For Isak’s teammate Simon Langenfelder, the young German led the initial stages of race one before two crashes contributed to an 11th place finish. Competing in front of his home crowd, Brian Bogers raced to a well-earned seventh overall in the MXGP class with Pauls Jonass overcoming illness and a crash to ultimately end the day in 11th.

Isak Gifting:“Today was a good step in the right direction for me. I felt great on my bike all day, as soon as I got on the track I found my flow and that gave me a lot of confidence right away. I still need to work on my starts a little, I think I could have done better if I was a little closer to the front but overall, decent progress and I fought hard in both races for a good result.”

Round four of FIM Motocross World Championship took GASGAS Factory Racing to an all-new venue for the series in Oss, The Netherlands. The sandy terrain mixed with warm sunny weather created perfect track conditions, which were to the liking of all racers.

For MX2 racer Isak Gifting, round four of the series saw the Swede finally back up front on his MC 250F. Charging through the field from a mid-pack start in race one, Gifting battled for the whole moto and moved into seventh on the final lap to cross the finish line and claim his season-best race result.

In race two, Isak enjoyed a much better start and moved into eighth-place on lap five. The 20-year-old went on to complete the moto in eighth, which paired with his race one result, meant he was rewarded with a season-best overall finish of sixth. With a confidence-boosting pair of results under his belt, Gifting will now focus on improving his starts and continue to re-establish himself as one of the hottest prospects in the MX2 World Championship.

The MXGP of The Netherlands started off with Simon Langenfelder holeshotting race one and leading plenty of laps aboard his MC 250F. As the moto continued, the German settled into fifth place where he’d remain until the final lap when a big crash sent the youngster to the ground. Fortunately, he was able to dust himself off and finish in 11th. In moto two, a coming together with another rider damaged the 17-year-old’s bike and he was unable to continue. Nevertheless, Simon remains in good spirits ahead of round six next weekend.

Standing Construct’s Pauls Jonass continued with his consistent start to the season with a solid seventh place in race one at the MXGP of The Netherlands. Despite feeling a little under the weather in the lead up to the GP, the Latvian was frustratingly unable to push but maintained his pace to record another strong finish.

In race two, Jonass enjoyed a great start but in the second turn he collided with a rival’s stricken machine, resulting in a heavy crash. From there onwards it was a race-long charge for the 24-year-old as he battled his way to the finish line for a 13th place result.

Similarly to Isak Gifting, Brian Bogers enjoyed a positive turn of fortune at MXGP round four. The Dutchman was putting together a solid first race in the MXGP class, before he crashed out of seventh and ended the moto in 12th. For moto two, the 24-year-old enjoyed running in third place in front of his home crowd, before losing two spots in the closing stages of the race. Nevertheless, Bogers demonstrated just what he’s capable of and ended the day with a strong seventh overall.

Simon Langenfelder:“An up and down day for me. Holeshotting and leading race one, well, that was an amazing feeling! I was a little tight and dropped back a few places but then unfortunately I had a big crash on the last lap. It was really frustrating but I was able to finish the moto in ninth. I was a bit sore for race two and didn’t quite get the same start. I then crashed with another rider, which damaged my bike too much to continue. Overall, I’ll focus on the positives from today and I’m looking forward to more hardpack next weekend.”

Brian Bogers: “It was nice to show what I could do today and score some decent results. I felt good on the track and I like the sand, so it was good to put two races together and show what I can do. It was a shame to crash in race one, but even finishing 12th wasn’t so bad. Race two was much better. A great start and then I ran third for quite some time, right until the end. Tony and Romain came by but to finish fifth was a great result and I’m feeling much better in myself, so overall this was a really big step in the right direction.”

Pauls Jonass: “It was a bit of a tough one today. After Italy I’ve been a little under the weather so coming here I was hoping for two solid races, but I only got one! In race one I was up front but just didn’t have that extra little bit of energy I need to push but finishing seventh was a decent result all things considered. Then in race two, Glenn fell in turn one and I couldn’t avoid his bike, so I went over the bars and that was it. After a few laps I started to feel better and better and ended up 13th from last so that wasn’t too bad. I’m a little sore but I’m looking forward to Loket next weekend.”

Standing Construct GASGAS Factory Racing and DIGA Procross GASGAS Factory Racing will now head to the Czech Republic for the next stop of the FIM Motocross World Championship, round five of the series that takes place on July 25.
