MOSIMAN BACK IN ACTION WITH FOURTH OVERALL AT PRO MOTOCROSS ROUND 10.

BARCIA GRABS A TOP-10 FINISH AT BUDDS CREEK NATIONAL.

The #29 machine of Michael Mosiman returned to the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS Factory Racing team lineup at Budds Creek this weekend and what a statement it was! Leading close to half of the laps in the first 250MX moto, Mosiman consistently charged up front all day to score fourth overall at Round 10 of the 2022 AMA Pro Motocross Championship in Mechanicsville, Maryland.

After sitting out the last two rounds to give his body time to heal, Mosiman was ready to get on the gas at Budds Creek! He couldn’t wait to get his MC 250F out front on the opening lap of Moto 1 and he pushed hard out front during the first half of the moto. After getting passed midway through, Mosiman made several fighting attempts to get back into the lead but he lost a few more spots along the way, finishing fourth. In the second moto, he had his work cut out for him with a seventh-place start and he climbed into the top-five battle midway through. It was another all-out fight to the finish, with Mosiman bringing it home for seventh in that moto. Combining scores of 4-7 were enough to secure fourth overall on the day.

Michael Mosiman:“It felt really good to be back at the races after a good while! I felt good from the get-go, I took my time to be ready to race and not just to come out and ride, and I think that was a smart decision. I’m really proud of my start in the first moto and making quick moves to lead about half the race or so. It just felt good being out front and focused on me! I had a battle pretty much the whole time both motos. Second moto, I didn’t quite have it but I rode my heart out. I’m looking forward to next weekend!”

Pierce Brown didn’t have the day he was looking for coming into Round 10 as he came together with another rider early in the first moto, taking a slice to the elbow. After some quick stitches, Brown came back as best he could for a 12th-place finish in the second moto.

Pierce Brown:“This was a tough day. I started the day off good with second in qualifying and I was stoked going into the motos with some momentum. I got together with a rider early in the first moto and ended up slicing my elbow open. I had to get stitches before Moto 2 and I hurt my ribs in the process. I had to fight through both of those and had to salvage the day for what it was. Not a good day but we’ll move on.”

Barcia came out hot in the first moto of the day, charging his MC 450F into the top-five on the first lap. Positioned within some fast company, he shuffled around inside the top-10, ultimately making it stick with an eight-place finish in Moto 1. He got off to another decent start in Moto 2 and after battling through some adversity, he crossed the line in 8th.

Justin Barcia:“Budds Creek is one of my favorite places to come to and the fans are awesome! I had two pretty good starts in both motos, I just really struggled with making a lot of mistakes, getting into a good flow and I just didn’t ride like myself today. We’ve got two more rounds, so I just need to go home, do my laps, have some fun, relax and let it come to me, because today I overrode and made a lot of mistakes and let myself down. Definitely need to regroup and go out and have some fun because I have nothing to lose.”

The 2022 AMA Pro Motocross Championship heads into its final stretch of racing with the penultimate round taking place next Saturday, August 27 with the Ironman National in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
