Unique and joyful Media Event in Sumbawa kickstarts the MNC MXGP of Sumbawa – Indonesia.
An amazing media day began off the celebrations for the MNC MXGP of Sumbawa – Indonesia with a unique visit to the Regent Palace, a parade of the riders through the city, meet and greets with the fans and much more.
The festivities started with a special visit to the Regent Office where the riders, teams and paddock personnel received a very warm welcome with a traditional dance and music performances. Among those in attendance Infront Moto Racing CEO David Luongo and FIM/CMS Director Antonio Alia Portela have been welcomed by the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara Dr. H. Zulkieflimansyah S.E. M.SC, Major of the city of Sumbawa Drs H. Muhammad Abdullah and Mr.Ridwansyah Head of Public Works Department West Nusa Tenggara Province.
The officials used the chance to personally greet everyone with a variety of speeches, sharing their enthusiasm for the event. David Luongo also mentioned how the warm welcome of the people in the city, the whole island and the country of Indonesia make this event very special and a Grand Prix to be celebrated by everyone.
Following the welcoming speeches, traditional horses and carriages, known as the CIDOMO, drove the MXGP riders around town for a very memorable procession. Along with CIDOMO, traditional Indonesian bicycle were at the disposition of riders and guests to parade amongst the crowd.
The parade saw thousands of excited local fans showing their delight to see the best motocross riders in the world. Packed on either side of the road throughout the whole parade, fans were eager to capture every single moment as they cheered and waved to everyone passing by. The atmosphere was fantastic and completely joyful in a unique moment of communion between the MXGP paddock and the local population. It also showed how much this event mean to everyone on the island of Sumbawa and the passion they vow to motocross.
Finishing the parade at the Palace, riders were welcome by more fans and by traditional dances and fighting performances before getting ready for a family photo with officials. Everyone got the chance to taste local delicacies before leaving this astonishing media events.
Riders attending the media event included Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado and Simon Längenfelder, Team HRC’s Rubén Fernández, Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP Team’s Jeremy Seewer and Glenn Coldenhoff, SM Action Racing Team Yuasa Battery MXGP’s Alberto Forato, MRT Racing Team Beta’s Ben Watson and Alessandro Lupino, Ship to Cycle Honda SR Motoblouz’s Valentin Guillod, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Andrea Adamo, Liam Everts and Sacha Coenen, Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Kay de Wolf, Roan Van De Moosdijk and Lucas Coenen, TEM JP253 KTM Racing Team’s Jan Pancar, VHR Racing Team’s Scotty Verhaeghe, JWR Honda Racing’s Alvin Östlund and Hardi Roosiorg, AIT Racing Team Petar Petrov, JM Honda Racing’s Camden Mc Lellan and also local hero JM Racing Astra Honda’s Delvintor Alfarizi while legends like Antonio Cairoli and Joël Smets were also present to this special event.
Infront Moto Racing is really grateful to be received of that incredible manner by everyone, from locals to officials of Sumbawa-Samota and will now look forward to a great weekend of racing starting tomorrow with the RAM Qualifying Race of the MNC MXGP of Sumbawa – Indonesia.
